Well if you turn on and off your server quite a few time
each day you may wonder how to get rid if placing a response into the
Comment: window on shutdown. Since I am running this on a laptop it
was driving me nuts!
By now you should have domain-based Group Policy set up - RIGHT?
-
Close everything that is running (or take a chance)
-
Click Start, and then click Run. Type MMC
-
Expand your Local Computer Policy
-
Expand your Computer Configuration
-
Expand your Administrative Template
-
Expand your System
-
now on the right side find Display Shutdown Event
Tracker
-
double click it and select Disabled - click OK
-
File - Exit and select Save
NOTE:
1. To force the replication of Group Policy, enter
the gpupdate from the command prompt
2. To put it back in service simple reverse steps and
select Enable
Let me know if you have any problems.
